Len Giesecke, who served as an Associate Director in the Ankara office in 1963-65, died on April 9, 1994, of a heart attack. He was a widely respected professor of economics at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, having been a member of that faculty since 1968. Len was in the first wave of Peace Corps volunteers, serving in the Philippines from 1961-63. He then was hired for the staff job in Turkey in which he always had a ready ear for the concerns of the volunteers of those years. He is survived by his wife Mary.
