Albert Einstein Handy Obituary

It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Albert Einstein Handy of Baltimore, Maryland, who passed away on January 19, 2024. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including : his father Elisha; his wife Cathy; his children, Alicia Handy (John), Catherine Marshall (Byron) of Baltimore, MD, Albert Handy (Jill), Elizabeth Laidler-Handy (Rue) and Kong; his family Al’s; his uncle Albert; and his aunt Cathy. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

From Albert’s wife, Cathy:
Albert Handy passed away on January 19, 2024  from pancreatic cancer. He suffered for about 1 1/2 years going through successful Whipple surgery but then in October the cancer came back. He had a serious infection and then a stroke which took away his ability to talk and move. He died peacefully at home.

Al served in Turkey-12 and taught Corrective Therapy at Haceteppe Children’s Hospital in Ankara. For our honeymoon back in 1981 we went back to Ankara to see that the kids he taught were now doctors and nurses! What a credit to Al and the Peace Corps.
