We were roommates in Bandirma ’63-’64 and she lived with Pat Mitchell Lowther in Adapazari ’64-’65.  She embraced trips to the village with students as well as to the sights of Istanbul — and Turkish grammar.  She lived in Ankara in the 70s for two years with her spouse, Haig, whose mother survived the genocide in Harput.  Those of us who traveled from Istanbul-Erzurum-Kars-Ani-Doğubayazıt-Van-Diyarbakır-Mardin-Göbeklitepe-Sanlıurfa-Gaziantep for our 50th anniversary in 2013 have great memories of that trip with Ginny.  She, Max, and I were amazed to see the restored Armenian church in Diyarbakır in October 2015.    — Kathy Markley Scruggs (T-2)

Sharlene and I remember fondly our visit to Bandidrma in 1964 and our dinner there with Ginny.  She was a happy, gentle person, who will be missed.    — Paul Magnarella (T-2)
